Eco-Living, Luxury, and Opportunity: Mesa del Sol Has It All

Mesa del Sol: Albuquerque’s Growing Urban Oasis
Mesa del Sol, Albuquerque’s ambitious master-planned community, is experiencing a significant resurgence in 2025, blending sustainable living, economic growth, and modern amenities. After years of gradual progress, the area is now witnessing a construction boom that is redefining its landscape and attracting new residents and businesses alike.
Residential Expansion and Eco-Friendly Living
A pivotal development is the collaboration between Titan Development and Mesa del Sol Investments, aiming to prepare between 500 to 1,000 residential lots by the end of 2024. National homebuilders such as D.R. Horton, PulteGroup, Abrazo Homes, Twilight Homes, and Westway Homes are poised to construct new homes on these lots, addressing the high demand for housing in Albuquerque.
In a stride toward sustainability, SunState Solar and Westway Homes have introduced the “eco-series” homes—fully electric residences equipped with 7.5 kW solar panels and EV charging stations. These homes aim for net-zero emissions, leveraging Albuquerque’s average of 310 sunny days per year to minimize utility costs and environmental impact.
Mixed-Use Developments and Community Amenities
Woodbury Corporation is set to develop a mixed-use project featuring 420 residential units and over 13,500 square feet of retail space. This Class A development will offer amenities such as a pool, fitness center, business center, and unique features like a golf simulator and podcast room—perfect for modern professionals and families alike.
Pulte Homes and D.R. Horton are also contributing with new neighborhoods that include outdoor heated pools, dog parks, fitness trails, and convenient proximity to major employers like Netflix and Kirtland Air Force Base. Mesa del Sol is fast becoming one of the most desirable locations in the Albuquerque metro area.
Economic Growth and Infrastructure Improvements
Mesa del Sol is rapidly becoming a hub for innovation and employment. Maxeon Solar Technologies is establishing its first U.S. facility here, projected to create 1,800 manufacturing jobs and generate a $314 million economic impact. Similarly, Australian-based Star Scientific plans to build a $100 million research and manufacturing campus, adding approximately 200 jobs.
To support this growth, the City of Albuquerque is investing $8 million to upgrade the entrance at University Boulevard over the Tijeras Arroyo. This infrastructure boost will ease access for residents and businesses and further solidify Mesa del Sol as a central hub for film, sports, and technology industries.
